I was admitted to CMU MCS last December. I've heard many people in CMU gain a dual degree or double major but I'm not sure about the difference. Can someone tell me the difference and the possibility of gaining a dual degree in computer science? Thanks~
At my school, dual degrees require you to double up on all your classes, including core classes. I wanted to get a BS and a BA, but my advisor strongly recommended against it because of how much additional work it is. If your school is like this, the double major would be a much better choice.
Some classes do overlap, it all depends on your school. I’m not a dual major because I can get the 150 with just accounting degree, but I know dual majors and usually they say the extra work is not that hard and that their finance classes are easier than their accounting classes.
